We've been thinking about creating a modeling/Max knowledge test for applicants. We have a few ideas but I was wondering if anyone else does testing with job applicants or even if anyone has had to do a test for a new job. If so what is it like?

just two jobs I ever applied for. one was a photo restoration, we just had to clone out some stuff and colour some other things. and for a game studio just had to model a low-res house from drawings they provided. pesonaly I think some ones deomreel is enough, though testing would weed out any one not using their own work, or if they work too slow.

The test we had was to model a (airplane) seat, so involves import reference, materials, modeling, quite a good all rounderAlain Blanchette

imho it should have hard bodies and soft bodies altogether, some transition between them using weights and such, part of it modelling from blueprint or pdf reference...

Well, I think some small tiny things would be a perfect test. For ex. a cell phone, maybe a car rim and some architectual (so if he know splines inside max or nurbs anywhere). Cell phone should be modeled in polysYou can clearly see his abilities. SonyEricsson has tons of blueprints. In manuals.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?
