Dimming the Sun

This drives me totally insane because here in Crapsville CA it is sunny for most of the year. It is going to be over 100 degrees here today and not a cloud in the sky and we may not see a single cloud for another 2 months. Every m#$#$%F%^ing house should have solar panels on it. It only makes sense. I looked into solar panels for my house over $30,000 to put them on! This is not a functional equation. My electrical bill is over $300 in the summer mostly for ac. In the cooler months it goes down to under $100. There are so many new homes being built still in this area but NONE of them have solar panels.

They are pretty unsightly. I was reading an article about shingles that are actually solar panels.

Tell you what... when our temperature up here in upper Minnesota is 60 below for a month with 6' of snow I question global warming.

Just because it isn't happening in your backyard doesn't make it not true. Your area of the globe may be hit last. But what about those hit first or far worse than yourself? I'm sorry but I think that is just the attitude I alluded to in my post and the kind that will end up being the most damaging to the Human race and the Earth. Everybody needs to forget about "I" and start thinking "we" or "us" beginning with our governments (or most of them)

I would love to have solar panels on our house. In Germany around 20% of their total grid is supplied by solar powered energy. This stat was from a documentary I just saw about solar energy. I don't remember the name off the top of my head.

For those interested, there are also solar panels coming out that are called thin film solar panels invented by a gentleman in California. They are flexible sheets that stick to metal roofs and then you plug them into your inverter and off you go. The inventor was in the movie "Death of the Electric Car" and showed the panels off in the movie.
