Has anyone else played it yet? Impressions? I was blown away and from the, way too brief, demo it easily looks like one of the top games of the year.

Agreed, quite impressive, I only managed to get partway through it last night before I had to head out for some errands, and I'm upset to hear now that I was probably pretty close to the end of the demo. It does look amazing visually, and the gameplay was pretty fun as well. Definitely looking forward to it.

Yeah.. once you get close to the medical section, after a group of Splicers, it ends; way too short. It should be interesting to see if they can keep that gameplay going for the duration. I'm highly intrigued how the 70 plasmids and weapon combinations will work out; the developers aren't even 100% sure what players might come up with.

I'm on pins and needles for this one - no 360 for me, though, just PC - and mine's lacking in the graphics department (for now) with a 6800 GS OC. I may look at a new rig for this game (and future ones like Crysis )Matt English

What an amazing game!!!
Just... amazing. When you come to the surface in the water.. I was like ok.. when can I play.. stop the FMV.. then moved the stick and i moved.. .. THATS in game... wow.
And it just got better from there.
I actually made the demo last quite awhile.. due to me looking everywhere and admiring everything.
What a stellar stellar game, how good were the water affects when that plane crashes thru the tunnels!!!
I admit it did freeze on me the first time tho
I have it pre-ordered on xbox360. Purely because of screen size.. haha 30" for the PC and 40" for the xbox360.

It seems to be one of those games to turn the lights down low, and turn up the audio. I thought the ending of the demo was funny, with the 3 crazy people braking through the glass ... I was looking at them thinking oh no, but after a while I thought ... I can kill these no prob, bring it! ... then the demo ended

Yeah. And how about when you first enter the tower and see that statue? When the plane fuselage crashes into the tunnel I just sat there for a while admiring the water effects and the fish.
I need to replay the demo again and try to hack the bots flying around; they'll fight for you if succesful.
Argh.. A number of people got the game yesterday because some Toys R Us' sold the game when the boxes came in without sell dates.
I'm debating getting it for my PC. It's my home theater PC and I'd have to upgrade the video card, which presents another set of problems since it's already dead quiet. Eh. I'll just get the 360 version. Either way it's 51", although HD would be nice. Heh. Next upgrade.

Yeah I got to learn how to hack those robots too. Too bad the game isn't multiplayer, gets kind of creepy being in there all alone jeje
I got the xbox connected to a projector so it's around 80", not the best detail but the size more than makes up for it
Here's a cool weapons demo clip:

The robot hacking is pretty easy, just flip over all the tiles as fast as you can, replacing the next pipe you need as you go.
In regards to playing the FPS without a mouse, it wasn't until a year or more after the original xbox came out that I got into consoles, I got tired of working on the PC all day and refused to go home and try and relax by playing games on the PC as well. Pure laziness is what drove me to consoles. If suffering with a thumbstick control is what I have to do in order to be able to relax on the couch to play games, I'll gladly take the thumbstick.

Yeah FPS on consoles take abit to get used too. I love it, but also love FPS gaming on PC as well.
Well im all pre-ordered up for the 360 version.. bigger 1080p screen and all.
Has anyone noticed their 360 getting hotter than usual when playing bioshock, i notice the fans were going full tilt and it was rather wamr. Compared to say racing around in flatout (another wicked game) or overlord or something.

better be as good as 'everyone' is saying!
1080p is a bit low res for me :P plus i dont have an xbox + i had console controllers. + this pc is a beast :PWerT
