Argh.. I only got in a few serious hours last night, and just teased with the one big Daddy you see, and feel, in the distance.

So far it's a great blend of frenetic action and moments to poke around and explore; haven't even scratched the surface yet.

Heh. My FPS skills are rusty though so I'm playing though on medium; and even then I feel as though I'm running out of health packs and stuff too.

yup. second that. I've also got the second level personal shock damage on, so anytime I'm fondled, they get the ride of their life! usually makes short work of just about anyone I've come up against so far.

I must have accidentally selected the easy difficulty, though, because I've got too much of everything! I'm torn between restarting on a higher difficulty, or just finishing it out as it is....I'm running "errands" for Sander Cohen right now...don't want to say more for fear of spoiling anything for anyone.

You can check/change the difficulty mid-game, in the options.

At the farmers market now, starting to play a little more creatively by using traps and set-ups more too, which is tons of fun.
Almost everything about the game is flawless

Except that it makes me dizzy and nauseated, damn! first person shooters always do that to me so I think this one is out . Looks beautiful though.

Try changing the FOV - it's set to 70degrees, which I find a little low. Half life 2 was the same and made me feel a bit rough, so ive upped it to 90.

On a 16:10 widescreen, .833 in both works out well.

                      • Just picked up the steel tin version for PC for £24.78 from Tesco. Can't wait to get started on it, but as strange as it may sound I am playing through Half Life: Source because I have never actually finished it! Sort of a rights of passage thing! haha

                          • it's funny....but Bioshock is the EXACT SAME game as System Shock, but different setting is all....i mean, even the audio diaries and ghostly visions were in SS, too! Sure, there's more to see and do and customize about yourself and your weapons, but that's about it. But here's ths kicker.... - I don't give a sh!t - because it's fun as hell!

I don't find myself setting up many traps, though, so I'll need to give those a shot. I pretty much just hack cameras/turrets left and right and sit back and watch.

                            • Just been reading about the draconian DRM that BioShock is wrapped up in.

I have not opened the celafane wrapper yet and to be honest... I am feeling like I don't want to.

As it stands you can only install the game on 2 computers and reinstall it 3 times. I think due to a mountain of complaints they have extended this to 5 machines and 5 reinstalls.

This is still completely unacceptable. I rebuild my system all the time and being in the knowledge now that the game which I have just BOUGHT will stop functioning after 5 reinstalls and force me to purchase another copy is really angering me.

At this moment I feel like taking the sealed disk back to Tesco and getting a full refund. I can't believe that these companies have the audacity to actually sell us this crap, we are not buying this stuff anymore but bloody renting it!

What happens in 5 years time when feasibly the company has gone under and the servers are down and I can't legitimately play the very game I legitimately purchased.

I buy all my games and always have but I feel that this is one step too far and I am very tempted to change my habits of a lifetime and find some kind of modified version in some murky corner of the web.

Apparently these restrictions apply to the Steam version also.
