Well I usually play games on 1366x768 (the native resolution for my HDTV) so shouldn't be a problem for me. Hmmm... quad core... there's another thing I've forgotten to look into. The clouds look excellent on XP as well, so they've gotta look incredible on Vista *drool*

THIS DEMO SUCKS!!!
No way to play it on 1920x1200 res with very hight settings on my Q6600, 4Gb ram, 8800 GTX ACS3 OC!!! I don't know, Crytec did this game on some nano computers I guess, to be able to play it on very high settings!!!.
The worst thing is that I was stupid enough and placed pre-order on this oneLuke Szeflinski

You want all that, and a wee bit, at those res as well?
It was yesterday we all played games at max 1280, with SO much less than what crysis shows.
I only played it in dx9, and it blows ANYTHING seen so far (ut3? hl2? g'nite) so away it hurts.
Play it at 1280x1024, add a bit of AA, and be a happy camper.
Or play it at that res with mid or low settings for some features, and be happy as well.
Bloody hell, i just don't get this sort of attitude, tbh.
When down, open max 2008 and THEN get back into Crysis.Lele

sorry, but when you pay quite some money for the hardware that is supposed to run everything you throw at, is really sad!
I'm a customer here and when I pay for something I have rights to demand. I'm also very courious what machines Crytec has that is able to run it on very high with the res they put in the game as max. Ok I don't have SLI but comon!!! Even people with SLI are F&%$@ !!!
Again what's the point of putting all those settings (very high, huge res) if there's no machine on this palnet to run it!? Could they just set the max res to 800x600 with 2x AA as very high settings?!Luke Szeflinski

I see you don't remember what "Origin" was.
It IS playable over here, if i scale the resolution down a bit.
Cancel your preorder, and be happy.
Whining isn't constructive.
Besides, i KNOW for a fact most options are off in the demo, like for instance texture streaming isn't deactivable.
That alone would resolve most "glitching" issues on systems with plenty of ram, but there is no way to change the mode in the DEMO version.
Before shouting "it sucks!", I'd try and be more cautious, if i were you.
As this thing DOES deliver goods never before seen on pc.Lele

what the hell is wrong with people who have top end hardware that cant run the game maxed out?
Its future proofing the game, so you can run it on hardware in 5 yrs and see it looking even better.
if I were to make a game, i would have the following graphix settings "HIGH" "TOO HIGH" "WAY TOO HIGH" and "ITS 2015"
Then you'd stop having complaints just because they will see it running fine on 'high mode' :P
I just played it through on MEDIUM and the game looked f-ing fantastic and ran very well indeed on my 3.6ghz quad core intel with x2900xt.
If that is "MEDIUM" computer by this games standards, then FINE! does it really matter that the game offers settings even higher, and that I cant run them? no!WerT

The game runs perfectly well in mid resolutions for me (1280x960). If you're getting low framerates, try disabling transparency AA or set it to multisampling. Supersampling with this much foliage shaves off around 10fps. Also make sure to set it to single display mode if you're using more then one monitor and if you overclock your card for a game like this for gods sake watch your temperature levels. Though I'd advice against overclocking too much. you might get away with it in Half Life 2 but... and if you still aren't happy (I run the game at around 50fps with a 8800GTX and a Core 2 duo 6600 with multisampling turned on and that's hardly "unplayable") then just don't buy the game. you didn't pay for the demo so don't complain. just enjoy the awesome level editor and move on.

hello boyz..heres the news...some may know already:
Crysis demo is NOT the version they wil be using for gold one...
- it doesn not yet support quads, only the full game will
- EA is releasing a demo patch believe that or not which should (along with yet another new driver from nvidia, which is coming out next week) make the game playable at very high options
i have Q6600 running at 3gigs (will overclock more probably), 4gigs ram, 8800GTX, vista 64bit
i belive this all will be finetuned to our satisfaction sooner or later...
