    Hi,

I have a non-v-ray question. If I have a fence that I would like to follow a path, how would I go about it? I saw a script over on itoo, but I couldn't get it to work. The fence consists of a post and panel that I want to repeat.

    Thanks,
    Bob

    Path Deform

Got it. I used the clone plugin with path deform. I answer my own questions a lot, but hopefully someone else can find this helpful.

You can use "Spacing Tool", which does just that. It's located where Snapshot, arrray etc ... are.

        Yeah,
We've probably used clone on almost every project since we discovered it. Its nice having it in the modifier stack so you can change everything on the fly.

I've used spacing tool, but I prefer animating a baluster with a path constraint, then snapshotting it to create all the balusters.

We use spacing tool here, it has all the right options to fit pretty much any fence situation.

i must be missing something here. Why wouldn't you use the fence ae tool in max that follows any path you have? If the panel is the problem, why wouldn't you just make one of the verticals the same dimension as the panel?
