  • how to create wicker/willow style lettering ?

    Hi guys,

Ive been racking my brain/skill to try and come up with a way to model wicker that wraps itself around lettering and shapes. I have looked up scripts but cannot find anything. Does anyone have any methods or scripts or advice on how to accomplish this ?

I have attached an image to show you the type of result I want.

Pf spliner will make you lines from the part of particles travelling over the surface of an object.

    http://www.orbaz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2279 - you'll need pflow box #1!

Wasn't Toolbox 1 part of a subscription extension in the past and now integrated in Max ? Could be wrong since I'm not a particle guy.

Well, it kind of works ok, but there is no real uniformity of the particle paths. I dont really know how to control the particles so that they look like they are uniform weave rather than random shapes...

Maybe try driving the direction of the Particles with a wind so that you can push them a certain way along the contours of the model?

Yeah, I think Im going to have to experiment a bit with the wind. Ta

If you got modo you could try to do it in there using curves and this technique: http://forums.luxology.com/discussio...86&show=curves

...or try "SlideKnit" from the SlideLondon's site: http://slidelondon.com/iv

"This tool can help you lay things out on the surface of complex objects which have been UV-mapped. For example, you could craft an intricately-detailed knit-pattern mesh in a flat plane, then wrap this around a sweater-shaped mesh."
                        regards
