sorry for slow reply I've only just worked it out myself. I'm now using the mm2011 64bit version and that has the same problem it won't import quicktime or avi's - this is a known that the avi and quicktime codec are 32bit and the 64bit version of MM can't use them. It is mentioned that it has be flagged as an issue but support for MM seems none existent so whether it'll ever be fixed I don't know. The work around (select "all files" find the avi or quicktime and load) they suggest doesn't work for me either.

I can only see local drives and have no access to a network when importing sequences either. Should probably just use syntheyes instead!!
