I'm on XP64 and after Vray finishes rendering I have to sit through minutes of interface "blinking".
Since you're on XP64 then it's something different. The blinking problem is exclusive on Vista/7 since the GUI is handled by graphics card. We don't have this issue when we install XPs on the same machines. Your blinking will be probably different then blinking I described earlier

I get this quite a lot too with a varied selection of GFX cards, always happens with very heavy scenes.
If it's the same problem as I experience, I've found that I can sometimes fix it by clicking the maximise/restore button at the very top right of 3dsMax (you have to catch it between a refresh)...

Haha, yea. We discovered that if you right-click this very bottom-right corner area of 3dsmax it will bring up a viewport quality window which freezes the viewport refresh and you can actually set box-mode in the mentioned window which makes it not blinking anymore. But it's quite annoying because you have to click exactly at the time of a refresh.

Just wondering - are you using ATI cards or nVidia?
