    Good stuff!

Somewhat similiar to this, there is also a trial version of SpeedTree Studio now available @ http://www.speedtree.com/studio/
    a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g10NDl6HdD4

Sure it has slightly more settings.. just enough to make it more powerful

That looks fantastic. So intuitive. Why can't I have this on my PC?

the question is would it work on PC this wast even if it was written for PC...
...i woudl also like to be able to see the model wires....i might actually write to the developer and request more detailed info about the possibilities when it comes to mesh density as i am quite skeptical the iPAD could handle multimilion poly tree mesh this fast

Exact same thing I thought when seeing this: fantastic-looking, but why on earth for the I-Pad

Anyone tried this new free tree generator yet:

                    http://www.avizstudio.com/tools/atree3d/

There is even already a way to share trees with it:

                    http://3dtreexchange.net/

Have not had time to play with it myself but I have had it bookmarked ever since I ran into it a week or so ago.

was looking at speedtree and was cool to see it was used on avatar. I might have a project coming up where i need to simulate wind (from normal strength up to hurricane). how does speed tree deal with exporting animated models into max. I assume once i have it in max i can convert it to animated vray proxy

according to the article, the models import very well into the 3D soft, being mapped and allquad
i am really tempted now to even buy an ipad2 ))....i will have to find out more about the poly limits first though
