  • Garment maker issues (crash every time) in 2013

I am using Garment maker to create a pillow.

I create the underlying pillow proxy mesh, and in the top viewport, create a rectangle that covers the pillow. I convert this rectangle to a spline and copy the spline (again in the top viewport). I select all vertices and break them. I then apply the garment maker modifier and Max crashes, every time.

    What’s going on?
    Kind Regards,

This time I tried saving the pillow proxy as a 2012 file and went through the same process. I chamfered the corners and then broke the verts, and this is the message I get! WFT?

And this is what I get in 2013 when I try it. In max 2013, it completely crashes the application:-

Here is a bit of the scene I am working on. Can anyone apply a 'garment maker' modifier to the splines without it crashing?

It's because your splines are incredibly small - scale them up by 5000%, reset the xform & then they should be at a workable scale for garment maker to mesh.

Thanks mate. Bloody annoying problem! Our system units are always in meters in Max as otherwise there are accuracy issues with large projects. Our display units switch between mm and meters depending upon the size of object we are working with. The splines are only 'increddibly small' for Max - they are actually the size of a normal pillow, just drawn in meters. In my opinion, Max should be able to handle this without any issue.

Scaling up and then scaling back down once calculation was complete worked.
