Yep - boolean approach is one that I have yet to try. To be honest, I've always steered clear of Max booleans because of historical problems. I will retry if simple slicing doesn't work.

I've tried this approach, but it doesn't seem to work. I will try and attach the file.

    how to slice editable poly?

I am trying to slice a editable poly. I have tried slice plane, but I can't snap the slicing plane to where I want it. I have tried cut and quickslice, but they don't seem to slice the top and bottom faces.

Here are some graphics to explain:-

In autocad, you simply click on three points in the plane that you want to slice, and then slice the top off the lower object. Easy.

I am trying to figure this out in Max, but everything I have tried so far has failed.
Working...
