Could it be that you are using different hardware (dell settings) or PC calibration profiles?

It was also free fast shipping...Anyway, it probably is known already, but I would avoid such purchases on fleabay.
I would second that regarding stuff from Ebay. I've purchased electronic stuff and it's more often than not got some kind of issue with it. Sometimes fairly serious.

I calibrated my monitor with an old spyder express 2. It's done a good job and I'm really pleased with the image and colour.

Just ordered 3 from Amazon, as you say worth paying a touch more for piece of mind!

I tried to save a bit of money and recently purchased an Asus IPS monitor for home use (Asus PA248Q); I wish I would have paid the $80 difference to upgrade to an equivalent Ultrasharp. The Asus works fine, I ended up keeping it, but the Dell's I have in the office are much nicer to work on. The dark grey to black tones are where the Asus falls short. There is also a slight light leak in the bottom right hand corner of the monitor. I only mention this so others don't make the same mistake. Stick with the Dell Ultrasharps.

This might be a rumor, but I've been told by several past colleagues that the dell ultrasharp monitors are the same inside guts as the apple cinemas, just a different outer body...but that was around 6 years ago!
