perhaps. I could get them to oc and run fairly stable. But they would bsod every couple of days, sometimes they would run for weeks but eventually bsod. I gave up for now...So they may overclock them, but I doubt that would qualify as stable.

sounds like you have some duff chips, or insufficient cooling.. ive got a pair of 3930k's and ive been running them at 4.4 and 4.5 respectively without issues for 6 odd months.. only time they got a bit crashy was during a particularly hot spell here, when the room got over 35 degrees, my corsair h80's couldnt handle it....and the cpus were hitting 86... i just dropped to 4.2 until it cooled down again. i try to keep them mid to low 70's and they are quite happy.

They run at 70-75, yes the cooling could be an issue. I got x79 mobo, supposedly good for oc, but who knows.
