  • UVW Maps

There has to be a way! let's say I have 100 fence pickets. Each picket I want to apply a UVW to fit each picket, and not all the pickets as one large selection.

scale it to the general size you want, press make unique and then use the mass randomizer script to randomly offset them.

If it's a map customized for the picket and doesn't need to be offset you should have used instances.

Have a look on scriptspot Bobby as I am sure I saw I script there to do do just what you want.

If they are instanced, just select one picket and not all, apply an UVW modifier and will fit to those picket but is also applied correctly to all other instances.

Check "Use pivot" in the modifier list and then apply the UVW map.

Wow! I never heard of this "Use Pivot Points" thing. How long have we had that?

If you have more than one object selected, you will see it at the top of the modifier drop-down list. When you have only one object selected it is grayed out.

Honestly I've never seen it before either until it was mentioned in this thread.
