I was looking for an app, for my Windows Surface 2, for remote desktop. Logmein doesn't have one, and Chrome Desktop doesn't work. I did find Teamviewer, but $750, really? Am I missing something, or is that really what people are paying for it. I know there is a free version, but it's like running Logmein with very few colors.

got it, thanks. The quality was so poor (but fast), that I couldn't read anything. Do you use the free flavor, or are you paying the large price tag?Originally posted by Morne View PostIn teamviewer there is a control panel on top of the window where you have options where you can set it for either best performance or best quality or a combination.Bobby Parker

it's painfully slow through the Surface 2's web browser. The Surface is optimized for apps. Teamviewer was super fast!Originally posted by AJ Jefferies View PostLogmein can run through a web browser, have you tried that?Bobby Parker

Well if we are indeed talking about the RT version, then I hope you learned your lesson
After the first batch of surfaces, I would have thought nobody would even touch those things with a 10 foot pole.
The regular x86 surfaces are supposedly OK AFAIK.Signing out,

The Surface 2 is awesome! Solid, fast, and I have found everything I need in the Store. I thought about the Pro, but I remote in, so it made no sense.I had the Dell XPS, and I have had it for months, but never installed anything on it. My chromebook worked, but the resolution wasn't good enough for a 2nd monitor.Originally posted by trixian View PostWell if we are indeed talking about the RT version, then I hope you learned your lesson

Yah, it doesn't make sense for a single user who want to check on his/her rendering. Surface 2 has a built in VPN, and they have a Remote Desktop App, but I have to open a port. Once I do this, I'll be set.Bobby Parker

RDP from Microsoft is the best option.

Most tablets today are consumption devices, and Windows RT has it's fair share of consumption apps available and it is still a very young platform. Although with Intel's new line of Bay Trial chips, it makes me think Microsoft should put an end to Windows RT soon. Today you can get a full Windows PC with a 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB SSD and plenty powerful integrated graphics in a package smaller than an iPad and priced around $250-$300 US. I think Intel has just flipped the tablet market on it's head.Ben Steinert
