I have a 22,000 square foot house to put a price on. Now, an architect might put a 3-7 % number on it, so why can't we price jobs the same way? What about a percent per square foot and the percent is based on complexity; let's say low, medium, high. Has anybody tried this and figured out something that makes sense? I worked for a high-rise developer and he would look at plans and be spot on for a cost; basically square foot and project complexity.
