    Hi guys,

I'm using loft and twist along a path to create a twisted ribbon. Problem is that I can't seem to get the ribbon to resemble the attached example. I'm assuming this is because the shape is central and needs to be off center. Any ideas how to get this working ?

id imagine that moving the axis of the source spline to be at the centre of rotation would do it. or, can you not just put a number of control shapes along the path then transform them off-axis to taste after?

Looks to me that the ribbon in the org pic is starting on the lower left and flows slightly away from the camera then when it bends, the bend is toward the the camera and exits on the right. your example looks to just flow from left to right.
      Cheers,

I think your loft path needs to be a stretched out helix.

I was thinking exactly the same thing last night. I don't think there is an easy way to create a helix type curve along that path though. Maybe I can path deform a helix spline along the sections that need it and then attach those to the main spline.

Use a path deform modifier. It does exactly this.
