Happens to me every month! it happened this morning, but fortunately, my render was done. i thought I turned of auto updates, but apparently, not!

windows is evil this way. Thats why I always have autoupdate off, but its also dangerous.

I still don't understand how this happens? I've never had this happen to me. I've have a large renderfarm and many workstations and I have never had windows reboot a machine on me due to a windows update. I turn off auto update and set it to notify me when updates are available. I don't recall windows ever turning auto update back on without my permission.

There is a little update icon that shows up on the taskbar when critical updates are waiting to be installed.
