The file crashed several more times while rendering. I think it was bad scene management on my end. I created proxies for all the cars and bushes; now it's stable.

hmm ..... probably you had a problem filling memory. Shooting a very high rate could not stand the (RAM) system and the imminent crash when no space left.

Glad to be solved .... is frightful when you deliveries and hardware problems.

I watched the ram and when it hit 100% the screen locked up. I would move the mouse and it would jerk a little, then a lot, and then it would freeze. I waited several minutes, but nothing, so I killed it. This morning at 1am I killed it and it damaged the max file and my only backup was Carbonite. Even my daily sync wasn't there because when I upgraded to Windows 10 it must have deleted my scheduled task. Anyway, I'm back in track now. Thanks for the help.

windows 10 + scene problem = BSOD ( probably memory manage problem on win 10)

so then Andres, since you seem to know a bit about bsod maybe you can help me. I have one machine which can run under load for days fine, but when I leave it idle, it bsods with in few hours. Now i've tested the ram and hdd and so on everything seems ok. It seems that when its idle, meaning hdd - goes to standby then bsods makes sense? or can it be something else?

My bsod issue was solved. It was a bad raid config on that system. Reinstalling windows on ahci fixed the issue (so it seems)
