I have tried everything and what I have landed on is just setting the scale to 200%. Direct 3D doesn't have some of the display options Nitrous has and the icons are still too small. With scaling to 200%, there is no lag and the icons are big enough. I just set it back to 150%, when I exit MAX, for everything else to look good. It would be great if when I launch MAX, it changes and when I exit, it changes it back, but I am not that lazy.Bobby Parker

if you're looking for viewport performance in max then the Quadro line is your best option and offers "price scaling" according to budget.... the response you got back from "Ayub" is a bit discombobulating because you can run max fluidly on a 4k display (across multiple displays with billions of visible polygons).... sounds like he's referring to the "4k scaling UI" issue which you seem to have the most issue with. if 3ds max viewport display performance is the issue then it's your hardware that is struggling to keep up - no doubt about it....

The native scaling is 150% and everything looks great, again, except for 3DS MAX. PhotoShop scales nicely and so does Office, and basically everything else. At 150%, MAX is still far too small and in my case, lags terribly. For me, 200% is the magic for MAX, but everything else gets too big and fuzzy. I'll just work at 200% for MAX and what until MAX 2017 comes out. If MAX 2017 doesn't scale properly, I am going to head up a coup.Bobby Parker

Not to beat a dead horse, but it is also odd that you can change the scaling while in MAX and it'll stop the lag without rebooting MAX.Bobby Parker

Okay, I just stumbled across this. It lags when I go full screen, but if I minimize it a little, from full screen, it works.Bobby Parker
