  • How do you advertise?

    Those of you who do freelance work, I was wondering how you advertise your services, and even those of you in firms, I want to hear how you advertise.

    ive tried alsorts of things and ive found there is nothing like making appointments and going to see poeple face to face. ive tried expensive magazine adds and so on but you are there with a dozen or so of the same adds ! .... so i just make appointments and take a portfolio with me and i find that works well.

      Like Natty said....call ahead...take someone out to lunch or round of golf. Saves tons of money.

        yeah, both natty and shytigercp are right...face to face contact is the best, and most fruitfull.......at my firm there are full time marketers that do only that....travel and go to see the clients/potential clients in person...have lunch/dinner/golf and maybe take them to Vegas for a couple rounds of gambling and pay for a girl in the evening...hehehe :P .......(that's just for the bigger clients).....


        I think the same concept applies for single free lance person as well....face-to-face contact..

          your best method is only secoundbest. Best is to be phoned from someone who heared from someone that you are the best and only.

          But this donĀ“t work for first contacts of corse.

          And here it is, the difference between the 3D Artist and the Buisninessmen.

          It can be a painful thing to get to know, you cant survive only doing your oh so much loved 3d work. It has to be more. Glad ones who love this too.

            Yeah, as of right now I've been face to face with all the people I've worked with, they've come to me first because in my area (Metro-Detroit) I'm unfortunately the only person who does it, and I'm sixteen. I've found face-to-face works best, because the person you work with will ship your name around for you.
