Are you saying it's using up CPU time while it's waiting to actually start rendering. If so, that doesn't seem right.

basically rendering times are just increasing when is estimated to be finished but the render credit keeps going down, so its like its rendering but extremely slow but the credit is going down normally so nothing is happening except credit burning, here now hoping for a miracle and someone finishes rendering so i can leave that site, just a waste of money and rip off, not for the poor man at all if i wasnt busy it would have made more sense to render it on my pc, would be done already

Did you by any chance tick "Multicam" in the Checker settings? That setting is only for low res tests. So what happens is that your low res test will render only on 1 very powerfull machine. If you render to final large res, that setting should be unticked to use more machines

Anyways, give Dmitry a try, he knows what he is doing. His farm saved me a couple of times already. He has NDA docs available if you need it
                      Kind Regards,

There is absolutely no rip off!! Your scene settings were incorrect or too high so your account ran out of credits. As explained in my e-mail the servers activity just reports the renderer progress. If your scene is still rendering well your credits are also consuming.
Keep in mind that you can stop a project anytime from your account (dashboard) if you notice something abnormal.
All your other projects went smoothly and we did not change anything so...
Why don't you rather mention that? Why don't you mention the exceptionnal commercial gesture when I gave you credits back?
Really disapointing to read such words whereas the RANCH did not anything wrong!!

I won't comment on your post directly, since it has nothing to do with me, however, what happened is a fear of all of us. When a project has a budget, and something goes crazy like a render farm hanging on a render, it is a nightmare. It's not all fun and games, it can not only cut into your profit, it can put you into a deep hole. This is why I don't use render farms.

Now, since the thread is alive again, how are you charging for the typical camera around the house animation. I know this is an awful waste of resources, but this is what the client wants. I have to build the house anyway, so they want a couple stills and a 360, which in this case is just render time. Also they want interior panoramic; how are you charging for this? It does take more effort because you see everything and not just is in front of the camera.

Of course I understand. Even though this is the customer responsibilty to have correct settings. We always recommend to send a first test project of some dozen of frames max beforehand in order to confirm everything goes well (price + rendering time).
Regarding your comprehensible fear, we are very transparent with the waiting list and offer a server activity button while your project is rendering. You can stop a project anytime and download what has been rendered so far to avoid unnecessarily high costs.

We sell rendering time and not images so the price would directly depends on the scene complexity, optimizations etc.
You can use our online cost estimator for stills to give you a rough idea: http://www.ranchcomputing.com/en/pri...ator/still/all
I would recommend you to use the MultiCam option in RANCHecker (preparation tool for 3DSMax projects) if you have a tight budget. It renders the scene on one single server like on your own machine. We have very powerful nodes so it can be 5 times faster than a good core i7 computer for a very affordable price. And free your own computer for other tasks.

Do not hesitate to contact us again, also by e-mail if you have any more inquiries.

actually you guys gave me back half the render credit after i reported it and got no images, i asked repeatedly for a refund so yes thanks for the half refund and my account did not run out of credit i topped up to keep the rendering going and after 5 hours and nothing happening i had to cancel it and the scene as i told you in email rendered in faster time on my pc with no problems so it was on your side, at one point the entire system was not even refreshing in that time of the morning and nothing was updating, even for the renderings that were ongoing so i know for a fact that something was wrong and maybe you just dont want to admit it but something really was wrong and i reported it a few times. Thanks for the help otherwise though but i think most people do not like renderfarms anymore for stuff just like this. i wish i had known about the multicam option maybe it would have worked out on your site. Also i know its disappointing to hear me say bad things but if people don't speak up then no one hears your experience, its like walking through the jungle alone for a year, if you didn't have a camera to record it its like it never happened, am just sharing my experience and i know you will be upset and i would be too but am just not a fan of renderfarms anymore. Also you guys contacted me like what two weeks after? you guys were on vacation? anyway no hard feelings am glad i have a place like this to share my experiences and opinions.

Also i really dont understand how it works on the site and how you have it setup but when the render hangs am just watching euros run out and out and am sitting and crying please finish its a renderfarm! supposed to be fast! efficient! render like a rocket! but i guess i had a bad image in my head of a render farm and that it was an amazing place to quickly render etc.
