I went through the installer, however, I don't see anything new. Maybe I'll remove the old one first and try again.

It's very annoying. If you look at the installation files, it says you ALSO need the free siger plugins. There's 4 of them. The point is that its highly unlikely for a 3rd party FARM to have the extra plugins installed.

He says they can run side by side, so yes you need to make either a new link, or uninstall old one

I'll try again this afternoon. There were about a dozen files to download, so I am assuming the installer did what it needed to do with all the other downloads and there wasn't any manual copying needed.

No that assumption is incorrect. You need to manually copy the scenes folder to C:\VMPPmax
The "maps4" folder can be anywhere, but you have to specify the path otherwise the maps wont be found.
But I agree with you, the installer should handle all this automatically

disappointing...none of those plugins probably work with V-Ray RT.

Maybe eventually they will. For now, I am excited to start using them in my regular workflow.

You would like to download in case of each future updating archive in 10GB with setup and Cab files? I think, it's much more convenient to download 0.5GB setup. Maps and scenes it isn't so often updated.

You don't understand. We don't want all the files included in 1 file. We want the installer to handle everything, in other words it will take the other files and put them where they need to go and extract them there etc. When its just an update, the installer will only update what is needed.

Anyway, so far it seems the real world scale is not working correctly and I think it may be a bug. My display units are mm and scene units m, but when importing for example Bronze Satin, the bump size is 30000mm X 30000mm (30m X 30m)

Also, it would be nice to be able to make the thumbnails larger than 200.

Well I was happy for about 5 seconds after the install. Everything looks nice and I thought I would work a bit quicker now. Siger Support was quick to respond, however says in order to make the real world scale work, your scene units and display units should be the same. That's a serious design flaw in my opinion.
