How in the hell could they not have fixed the 'select by material'? I don't mean to complain, but that was one of the biggest things people were bringing up, proving that Autodesk was a bunch if baboons.
ill wait for SP3 then or completely skip this one...which would will mean i will throw away 50K CZK for this years maintenance subscription :-/
idiots....this really makes me mad
Seems the infamous "Select by Material" not working with Scene Explorer based dialogs bug is still not fixed with that SP Smiley Sad So i'll stick with the legacy "select from scene" dialog hacks quite a bit longer. "Select by Material" works in those legacy dialogs ...

The fact that we have to skip a version (which I will more than likely do too) is beyond a joke ! What the hell are we paying for ?
A scene that worked fine with SP1 now isn't bearable in SP2. Is anyone else experiencing this? I was working fine yesterday, upgraded last night and this morning, the viewport is so slow I can't work.

What version of windows are you on? Windows 10 is hateful with Max.

Yes, Windows 10, but I haven't had an issue until now.
I just got back from Siggraph and had some good conversations with reps from Intel and BOXX. It appears that Windows 10 does not play well with machines running over 64 threads i.e dual 18 core Xeon's and above. I had issues that would slowly cripple a machine until it becomes unusable with a similar configuration.
Take a look at the application and system logs in the event viewer. I bet it's flooded with errors.
All of the demos that BOXX was running 3DS MAX 2017 were running windows 7 Pro. Not a Single BOXX machine was on windows 10.

I don't have over 64 cores. I checked my logs and there are no errors. I haven't had a single issue until SP2, which I installed yesterday. I am removing it now; I'll see what happens.
