  • Maxwell test renders

Here's a couple test renders done after some very modest experimentation using the alpha engine.

I dialed in 8 hours as the specified render time for both images. The time of day is, as is evident,
early morning and late afternoon; Madrid.

I have added the moon in post. No other image manipulation was done however.

I'll post a few more images as time and deadlines permit. I think the renderer has some potential.

      apologies...

Sorry everyone. I wasn't paying particular attention.

I have addressed the issue of moving the post with the forum moderator since I don't believe I can do it myself.

We'll take it up again "over there".

For no apparent reason whatsoever I've come to hate Maxwell Render.

I don't understand, Maxwell just seems to be Direct GI to me.

                  but i'am sorry 8 hours for that...that's bad...ok it's alpha version...
let's move everything to the offtopic !! there's billion of messages on the Maxwell render there...

i don't think thoses images need 8 hours of computation. but since render time i s the only parameter, do you know when the image was noise free ? i guees you were not sitting in front of the screen

if it's the way you have to render with Maxwell...

                        EXCUSE ME !!

on wich PC u get this render time 8 hours?

a Pentium 100 with 256 MB of ram?

or simply a DUAL XEON with 4GB ram and quadro as video card?

It seems always the same rendering time since 1999 but with nasa PC

                        STRANGE things!!!

Obviously very good images but I don't think is a render for common people for now I saw some images with very long time respect a vray render for the same quality ( cleaner the vray's one) with very very shorter times
but for those PC is too long anyway THAT'S my OPINION

the second pic looks very nice to me with the sunlight. i'd like to see that recreated with vray. indoors are a no brainer but the physical sky thing looks interesiting. i had no great luck with gradient environments or hdri.
