They used This modeling software so called Modo and rendering was done in Lightwave.

i just love that comercial. they did an awsome job making sure the clumsy car parts did not overlap with their mocap.

I wonder what software/ technique they used to get those glows only on the overbright areas. Is this just an effect of using HDR in compositing or do they have to render out an unclamped pass and use a special plugin? I haven't been able to recreate this with the standard filters in Combustion.

Modo is a great modeling tool. I Have no idea how to model in subd's but I started using it, and the workflow is great. The only probelm is that it doesnt export 3ds, or max. you have to get some plugin someone wrote. How does max support sub d modeling? Does it have suport for ngons?
Modo's interface is awsome too, you can 100% customize everything. Its entirely script based. You can make new images, and make the interface look like what ever your want, and the scripts are perl, so if you have perl experience, you can start wrting complex scripts in no time.

i can imagine they render a pass and then put either a blur or a glow filter on top of it...
but the Filter Glow in combustion is working really gret also !!
It's just about finetuning things...i guess

yeah the thing that struck me the most the is the materials and lighting integration.....it's just right .......and those glows and reflections have just the right intensity......
seems like all their compositing work is very well done...
