I am using max 2018 and previously 2017. Now that I have just his morning switched to Direct3D 9 I have experienced parts of my model, parts of repeated railings, disappeared from the view. This is true in wireframe and shaded. After mucking around and using edged faces and hacking away at different display modes they re-appeared. So, still to early in my usage to really have a solid repeatable experience to report. This was not happening previously but it's a relatively small price to pay to avoid the hellish freeze ups. So far no freeze up this morning.
do you know - in the viewport menu>materials there are those choices of shaded with maps, shaded without maps, realistic with/without. None of them ever appear with check marks, so how do you know which is selected?

Bobby, I think I may have linked to that post you started further up in this topic?
by rolling back the driver do you mean you changed driver but are still using Direct3D 11 ?

The problem seems to exist in the drivers and we're working on getting them updated. Disappearing objects in DX9 is a bit strange, if you email a simple file with the problem to alfred.deflaminis@autodesk.com I'll happily take a look. I am not getting notifications for activity in this thread so I'll try to check back regularly.

Thank you Deflaminis. How can I be alerted or know when new updated drivers are available?

Hello all, NVIDIA released new drivers today which fixes this issue. We had confirmed it internally with a beta version, and the fix was released today. Please update your drivers and DX11 should stop freezing for you. Thanks everyone for your patience on that one. NVIDIA was really great about prioritizing this fix and working with Autodesk about it. Kudos to NVIDIA.
