  • Something like this for Gear VR ?

    Hello
I might have project coming and client liked very much these panoramas: https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=arZwGLEA93J
I believe this was done by scanning the space and creating rough 3d space from it, but I wanted to ask you guys - have you seen any software capable of creating something like this? I really like smooth transitions between Panos, it's like Google Streetview - exactly because they are in 3d space.
    Cheers

Yes, that's all done with a photo of the actual space, https://buy.matterport.com/. I did something more simial with 3ds max / vray and pano2vr to create these. http://www.roadwerx.com/portfolio/intx16/ and this one http://www.roadwerx.com/portfolio/JPMC_16/index.html

    Cheers

matterport is a combination of panoramas with geometry this is why you go smoothly from point to point....Matterport workshop I think is the online app to create tours.

Matterport forces you to use their server to elaborate the panoramas. That is not good if you have confidential projects. You can do the same with other similar panorama software like Kolor Panotour, 3DVista, Pano2VR...

          Thanks for your replies.
Yeah, I absolutely understand how matterport works. The thing what I like about it is that it creates approximate 3D scene like Google Streetview does with their 3d scanner camera. And what you got is a smooth transition between panoramas, as you are basically in 3d space. All the panorama software we have now is being based on just switching panoramas. But no smooth transitions. So I was wondering - is there something that will use 3d scene and create something like this with smooth transitions and etc?

I wonder how PresenZ project is doing so far? I remember they were thinking about adding VRay support, though they were silent for quite a while...
