Can someone please explain how to get Octane to render Phoenix FD sims? I recently purchase both and was told by the reseller that I HAD to have a license of VRay to render them. Perhaps she meant to render it in the PFD's native format, cause I recall seeing Redshift render the volumes (but it required the sim to be exported in OpenVDB).
I google-searched to see if Octane was able to render PFD, and only got some brief mention that Octane could render PFD but not native FumeFX. It's hard to get any sort of clarification and any sort of guideline to using them together. I downloaded the PhoenixFD w/Scanline build as I don't have a VRay license on 3ds Max. Scanline does render it just fine, but I could not get Octane to render it (haven't tried the OpenVDB option yet), so I thought I would ask if it's compatible, first. If not, the next question is what channels do I need to export with VDB? Thanks in advance.
