  • VRay Proxy subdivision & visibility overrides

    Hi,
is there any way to override subdivision & visibility on VRay Proxy (alembic) with Maya render setup?

Subdivision seems to work fine, you can just add a layer override to the attribute.
By visibility - which visibility attribute are you referring to?

In my scene, VrayProxy is loaded with Alembic file containing multiple poly mesh (nested under groups)

      mainGRP
      |
      |---subGRP01
      | |
      | |-- ballMesh
      | |-- boxMesh
      |
      |---subGRP02
      | |
      | |-- coneMesh
      | |-- cylinderMesh
      |
      |---subGrp03
      | |
      | |-- torusMesh

Now how can i override subdivision & visibility of specific group or mesh ??

Do you need to just change the value? Or do a render layer override?

The visibility lists seem to be unsupported for the render setup, I'll log that as a feature request with the devs.
As for the subdivision attributes - you should be able to override them just like any other attribute using the new render setup.

Thanks, is there any plan to integrate MaterialX 1.36 ? it will make life easier to manage shading network and material overrides.
