just to clear things up a bit though since i could see areas where misconceptions could easily be made. this is what you get when you buy 1 liscence with vray. 1 floating liscence which i assume for some people is loaded onto a central server rather than on a work station. this allows the liscence to float around your network. you can model in max with no problems. however you cant do anything that uses vray. for instance using the vray material in the material editor. i think basically the settings in there are blanked out or something. Who ever is in control of the liscence server computer will be able to disconnect the liscence from any computer and allow it for other ones. Again, you will not be able to do renders on the other computers on the network who dont have the liscence allowed for them.
So basically on one computer with 1 liscence you can do your materials you can do your rendering. Now then. the good part. using vray you can use the DR (distributed renderer) this will allow you to use up to 10 computers on your network to contrubute to rendering 1 single image. Vray renders with tiles which you can set the dimensions of. Each tile being rendered by 1 processor. so if all your computers on the network had 2 processors you would get 20 tiles rendered in a single go. if they were HT system you would have 40. The limitation on this is the 10 computer limitation. no limitation on processors. if you buy 2 liscences your limitation goes up to 20 computers.
Next benifit: you have unlimited network rendering capabilities. meaning using the usual max backburner for network rendering you can use an unlimited amount of computers. there is an unfortunate drawback that ive noticed listed here on the forum though. Microsoft has a limitaiton on network connections to any single computer.

to the people paying for shipping i think an outcry should go out to vlado and peter. this sounds very much like fraud on the part of the people selling chaos groups software. not fraud on the part of chaos group. basically they seem to be driving up the price on a package that vlado and peter have lovingly worked on. (im sure there have been time that they have hated vray and put it on CD just for the pleasure of having something physical to kick, bend, burn and throw around when a certain piece of code is acting up hehe)

@Daftpunk the render nodes cant render period. The only way you can use them for rendering is when using DR or network rendering. and in that case no, there are no watermarks.

ok, so when I use Distributed Rendering under the vray render settings, or the standard network render under common render settings, the render nodes will SEE that I have a lisence and render accordingly?

it would be really nice if we could purchase it directly from Chaos Group at the 10% off price that Trinity 3d is offering using an International credit card......so no hassles of sending an international pay order, no shipping and no problems.....

I would really like to purchase this and the us$80 difference is quite a bit...can anyone here guide me to someone who would do the needfull.

                        visions:
See thats the thing, i dont think Trinity3d is offering a real discount, they use that to sucker people in to buying vray from then, then they hit you with the shipping fee, and thus making it more expensive than buying the real thing from chaosgroup.

we just bought two copies of advanced from

                          http://www.id8media.com/framesets_3dprod/vray_frame.htm

they were excellent - and a very decent price - and although in the form filling in area they add shipping costs - its is a standard form thing - it is not added to the price of Vray - cause there is nothing to ship

anyway - i highly recommend the company - very quick and efficient and i got the auth codes from chaos within a day

I have dealt with Trinity3d in the past and they have been great to deal with, Im not sure why they are charging $11.00 for shipping nothing but I have sent them an email and will post the results if and when they reply.
