  • Phoenix Network install/specs

Ive been looking around a bit and perhaps I have missed it but does licensing work like Vray?
It looks like I add the Phoenix license to my Vray dongle.

The question being how many render node licenses are allowed per seat? Is it 10 like Vray, more/less?
We would most likely only need one or two seats but we have 35+ machines for rendering.

Does distributed rendering work with phoenix?

There is no distributed calculation/solving correct?

the rendering is for free, only the simulation requires a license.
DR is supported, but as you said there is no distributed simulation. just reminding: for DR set the input path to be network visible

    regrads,
    ivo

ok we got our order in and have our wibu key update but is shows up as product 9466128
and I get "cannot obtain a license" error

Do I need to yell at the reseller?

ah yes, this is because you are running the license server of vray 1.5, run the license server of phoenix, it supports vray too.

So we should use the Phoenix server instead of the VRLS for both VRay and Phoenix or do you mean that the id shows rather than the name
because of it being the VRLS? Will either work just the name will show different?

yes, you have to use the phoenix license server for both the vray and phoenix, not only because the name, the license server is changed with reason and it supports the old software (vray 1.5) but the new software (vray 2.0, phoenix 1.1+) can't work with the old server.
