hey guys. We were sitting around talking about Vray today, and we thought we'd add some more stuff to the current wish list. I am sure that some of these items have already been mentioned, but we only have access to limited parts of this forum. So here goes, sorry if this is old news stuff.
1) we would like to be able to save the render engine settings to some form of file then be able to load that file. This will let us configure different settings that novice users won't want to mess with, and it will also save setup time.
2) We would also like to see the option for materials to be automatically saved to .vismat file insted of needing to be exported to file. This will make creating libraries a bit quicker. Also, there should be a default directory in which vray (on start up) will load in all .vismat materials creating a default stock materials without doin any importing. I supose this could be done by modifying a template file for rhino, but we agree it would be easier if we could say on start up load all materials from C:\xxxx into the material editor.
3) the paths to associated material texture files should be relative to the 3dm path or the .vismat path. as of now you have to reassign all texture files like C:\wood.jpg when you open an existing 3dm someone else has already made. for example.. micha's
D:\Material\Environment\WaldplatzNebenKapelleBlur. hdr
anyway let me know what you guys think, or perhaps if some of this stuff is already present and we've overlooked it.
