I need to do objects with different surfaces. They have mirror surfaces and led beamers inside.
Now I got those solids that I exploded into sepperate surfaces. Have mirroring surfaces on some faces and the others need to be milklike-plexiglass with a texture (beamers are hidden inside the objects).
Now I tried a glass material but it doesn`t work on simple planes.
How can I set up a material that has a texture on it and emites light into the scene...there is no additional light except the ~150 LED beamers hidden inside the objects.
I put point lights behind this glas (which is a solid which I dont like because the texture is mapped around it...I rather want a simple plane)..it also looks grainy.
Hope that my post is not too confusing.
heres a test render.
and the scene with some other material but no internal lightning.

its spehrical because I love those .mov

A nicer material pipeline and some tutorials would be on my wishlist...
Hase anybody else done a backlit textured plane?
