  • Sunlight not redering correctly

Hi, I am trying to render a building using default sunlight shadows. I set the sunlight in sketchup to show the cast shadows i want, but when i render the view it comes out that the entire building looks like it is in shadow even when the ground, grass, and asphalt look as if they are receiving direct sunlight.

    My settings are as follows:
Global Switches: Default lights is the only thing checked under Lighting
    Output size: 3200x2400 Height
Environment: GI Sky and Background both checked
Indirect Illumination Primary Engine: Irradiance Map with Multiplyer = 1, and secondary set to Light Chache.

    All other settings are default.

    Here is the render:

nope, it still doesnt come up with the same cast shadows as i see using the sketchup shadows option. the entire side of the building seems to be in shadow with the ground being in sun, except there is no cast shadow from the building even though there is a cast shadow from the canopy.

            Skunny

In the environment - GI (Skylight) roll-out

untick "Override Sun's parameters", hit 'apply' and then tick it again, and hit 'apply' again, that usually does the trick.
(In other words you have to completely re-set this option after any changes in sketchup)

            Hope this works
