does the brick texture appear in your material preview?

is it a vismat that you downloaded from somewhere? in that case you will have to reload the diffuse map since the file path has likely changed.

This is what shows up when I click on the material.

      What I am missing?

Now I went through and relinked it and the scale of the texture is all wrong...

        How do I fix that?

just use the native SU controls for texture positioning. if you look in the Vray for SU manual (the original one, not the one for the new release), there is a section near the end about texture mapping.

the short of it is, right click on the surface, select texture, select position (i think those are the commands), and then scale/position the texture that way.

you can also open the SU materials dialogue, 'edit' the texture, and resize the bitmap to a specific size - ie. 1'x1', 10'x10' or whatever is appropriate.

The texture now looks very different.

I added the limestone. If you know of a better, more consistent limestone floor texture, please let me know.

I cut the size of my texture down and now it renders!

              What about scaling?

Do I do that in Vray?

              Or Sketchup?

I assume Sketchup is the only place where I can scale it. (But the manual is really lacking so I don't know.)

Re: Why isn't my brick texture showing up?

yes, scaling can be done in SU.

I have included links below to your updated SU file as well as to the a brick texture i made and a quick limestone panel texture as well. i added some bump and reflectivity to the brick as well, you can turn it off if you don't like it. you may want to play around with the diffuse map of the limestone in photoshop a little in case it's not dark enough for your needs. see the render below:

so the original brick texture was 9.525m x 9.8778m. With any texture, you can just figure out the real dimensions of the image, and then in the SU material dialogue, edit the material, and change the map size to those dimensions (in this case, 9.525 x 9.8778m). if it still doesn't look right, just play around with the size until it does. after i sized the image that way, i then positioned it on the wall so it looked realistic. that means select the surface in the model, right click - 'texture' - 'position' and just drag it up-down-left-right to make it look how you want it.

also, be sure to reload the maps (bump and diffuse) in the vismats that i have linked.

If you have time, for those of us who are in the dark, would you be so kind to show us how you made the limestone texture?

You took what I had and applied a transparency with a color?

And then that color again in Vray? Which setting?
