Re: CORRECT SETTINGS FOR RENDERING GLASS WINDOWS

    hello, welcome...

glass is user preference... scene and view dependant

    id go with
    DIFFUSE TRANSPARENCY set to WHITE
    DIFFUSE COLOUR is irrelevant
REFLECTION - Fresnel - IOR 1.33 to 1.55 ( the key for the reflection is tweaking the parallel and perpendicular colours in the fresnel. By default they are at total black and white. 240 PERPENDICULAR AND 40 PARELLEL is a good starting point

REFRACTION - ONLY use if the glass has a thickness - I usual have mine as standard ei when you first add a REFRACTION layer to the material.

also have a look in ASGVIS.com download section.... plenty glass mats there.

    kind regards

also, if you set a white texAColor for the transparency texture, rather than just setting the color to white, it will make the render come out with transparency, but the viewport will still display the model as being opaque (makes it easier to interact with sometimes)
