I am trying to simulate a paddle boat going through the water. This thread almost got me there, but the water all drains out of my volume by the time I reach 20 frames, despite jamming.

I found the sample file "pool" but I have no idea how that one works, since there is no PHXSource object in the scene. Are there any tutorials explaining how that was put together?

    Thanks.

I believe the initial grid is filled with a MaxScript for the pool example - perhaps you can use the same approach?

yes, the pool scene works with script initialization. but you can use its settings for the jamming and to initialize the water using the brush source method described in the other thread. i suppose you are using too low conservation parameter, by default it is 8, that is ok for fire/smoke simulation, but for liquid in vessel is pretty low. i would recommend - smooth conservation 30, classic advection with step=2. for more details see the "settled liquids" section in the help (tips and tricks).

        Thanks for the tips, guys.

I've decided to stop experimenting with this for now and I'll resume after the job is done (this week, I hope). With the nature of the shots I have doing full fluid sims is overkill.

            neither do I.
I don't fell that topic was answered and I have precisely the same doubt.
The pool scene seems to have stable water fluid that I was not able to achieve yet, using brush mode or not.
trying to follow the documentation which is still poor, and most of the scenes have no Phoenix Source too.

here is the scene for the coast video, that i posted in the images section.
the initial fill-up is made without script, with the brush source technique

Thank you this shall be helpful, as the Phoenix Source is also included.
