  • V-Ray RT 2.0 GPU and Transparency

    Hello,

I just started trying V-Ray and I have to say that I'm enjoying the workflow, the results and the speed
I encountered an issue with the V-Ray RT, only when using the GPU mode.
It doesn't seems to render the Opacity Map value of the materials.
It doesn't matter if I have a B/W file node connected to it or just a simple grey color.
I saw in the "V-Ray RT for Maya Beta" forum that someone encountered this issue as well.
Is there a way that I can workaround this bug, I mean can I do something to get the transparency shown in my GPU renders?
It is an awesome feature and it works really fast and well.

    Thanks in advance,
    oracio

    Hello,

We just have to fix the bug in the exporter.
    Simple as that.

      Hello Teodor,

Thank you for the quick reply.
Because I'm not familiar with how Chaos Group works with providing maintenance versions.
Is it something you do often? when the next release is planned?
I'm asking this because I'm researching for a new project and I would really love the incorporate V-Ray RT GPU.

For urgent fixes we have night builds.

Probably we will release 2.0sp1, but I don't know when and/or if this will happen.
This is something only Vlado could tell.

Just for common knowledge, after purchasing a license, how would I have access to night builds?
Is there a member area for that or is it via email request?

          Thanks again,
