    Hi,

Annoyingly I cannot seem to reproduce this on another PC. I will send the file that has the black square when I get home. Also when adding a Vray dome if you click to add another it increases in size? Does size matter in Rhino? Does everything need to be inside it to render correctly?

    Thanks,

      Hi
I noticed the size issue, but size and the position really doesn't affect the dome light and you don't need to have everything inside it.

Hi I have sent the scene to vfrwip@chaosgroup.com I hope that is the correct email to reach you? Also on the dome light there seems to be what looks like a sun? It is a circle with lines around it. It the start this sits centre to the dome how ever ion this scene it sits off to the side. Is there a reason for it moving? How did this happen?

        Thanks,

The Dome light icon, is basically a omni ligth icon with a semi sphere geometry and they are grouped. If you ungroup it, you will broke the dome light. Also You can only scale the dome light icon in 3D, if you scale it in 1d or 2d you will also brake the dome light. Anyway I will look at the scene, that email is ok.

            Hi James
I looked the scene and the black square it is a very very small light. It is so small that you can't even zoom in on it if you have other geometries in the viewpor. To select the bad light, first hide the dome light, then type "sellight" in the command line. You will se that it said that one light has been selected. Just click delete. No more black square on the render.

Thank you very much for the response, apologies for the confusion over the small light. Not quite sure how it got there.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but I've notice that if I click the track mouse button in the render window, while I am rendering, it stops the render. It appears all of the buttons, Alpha, Clear Image, the moment you click on one while rendering, it stops the render. Is this a known issue that will be fixed?

                Thanks,

I'm not sure if we have a bug ticket about this, but this is new for me. Could you please to report this issue?

Has anyone had any success with using the Two-Point Perspective viewport setting in Rhino 5? When I set up a scene in the viewport with the 2PP option and skew the view for more vertical drama, the scene is rendered looking straight on toward the floor. Will there be any updates to the beta that will enable two-point perspective rendering? It would certainly save an extra postwork step...

I have another question...In fresnel reflection there is IOR and refractive IOR. Why is there two settings? In 3ds Max for example it is clear that there is IOR for reflection and IOR for refraction. How ever in Rhino there seems to be more to configure.

That I ask me often too. I suppose so the naming is wrong and should be "perpendicular" and" parallel" based on the rays from the camera to the shading point.

I agree with Micha about the name, we should change it.. We have two Fresnel color one for perpendicular and other for the parallel area to control the reflection on the geometries. So the two IOR value is to add more control on the reflection for those two areas. The IOR is to control and help with the reflection on the Perpendicular areas, while the refract IOR value do the same thing but for the parallel areas.
We should rename them something like Perpendicular IOR and Parallel IOR.
I guess in 3DS Max both are link and you can also use a mapping to have more control of the parallel and perpendicular IOR

Ah ok in this situation I agree the names are confusing, would be better to rename,

                            Thanks

Thanks for the reply. So you could set the IOR for both perpendicular and parallel to be the same? I like the ability to control each one separately, not sure if I would ever go into that much detail though as a simple one for reflection and one for refraction like in 3ds Max seems to suffice.

Well, This give you the ability to use one particular color for the parallel and perpendicular and their respective IOR value to increase or decrease the reflection. It is very useful. Beside that to have even more control, you can use a texture mapping on each of the ior.
