We are having the following problem problem: VRay production renderer reads server based texture folder without any problems while the Vray RT can't seem to find the same textures and renders flat objects without textures. When we use a local directory the Vray RT reads the textures no problem. This has been going on for a while now. Anyone experienced this? Bug or missing env variable for RT? Thanks.

Vray RT not reading remote texture folder

How do you start the V-Ray RT render server application on your render slaves? Is it registered as a Widows service? If yes, you might need to change the user with which the service runs so that it can get proper permissions for accessing the network.

We are not using distributed rendering/ render slaves. We are each working independently on our individual workstations, but are all trying to use a central texture library that is located on a server. The production renderer can find the textures no problem, but the moment we use the same remote directory to run VRay RT all objects with textures render without them.

I guess were not understanding one another here. We are not using render slaves. We are using a central server as a repository for all of our textures and files we are working on. We load a file from the server to our local machines. These files link to textures on that same server. When we run VRay RT on our local machine (individual workstations) everything works except the textures. The moment we move or re-link the textures to a local directory all is fine. Distributed rendering is turned off in this case.
