  • Maya Phoenix: Splash particles doesnt break up. Solution?

    We've been trying to create a water splash elements for a show we are working on. Unfortunatly I cant find a way to get rid of these lines:


    Im generating the initial fill up with mel script and it is pretty much an egg shaped object gets dropped in.

    Cell Size 0.04
    Max step 6
    SPF upper 2
    SPF lower 1
    WxLxH 360x360x360
    sharpness .1 or .05
    Viscosity 0

    Splash Treshold 18
    birth rate 300000
    size 0.01
    size var 3
    size distrub 100
    air friction .9
    foam on hit .6

    Other elements looks good but the splash is almost split in sections. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

      known issue, currently we are working over the general improvement of the splash generation and shading. if this is important for you, may ask for nightly build access and to try with the latest changes.
      for now i would recommend to render the splash with motion blur, it hides the lines a lot. see this test

        Thanks Ivaylo, I have the motion blur currently on. Which does coverup some parts a bit but it is visible in bigger chunks since they all have similar velocity. But I will try the nightly build changes

              the user interface allowing the last foam/splash features is not implemented in maya yet, you have to wait few days.
