You just need to set the name of the simulator in the emitter node. Then particles will be created inside the simulator based on the content.

This is how to make it more similar to source and create more fire like behaviour

          phx_emitter.zip

The major difference here is that the emitter in this case is using Phoenix as a cache and gemerates dynamically particles.

              i cant dl the file?

you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

You have some problem with the Phoenix forum access. you should write to the support.

ok i will, i manage to dl the scene, but im afraid its not what i was expecting to see...

even with phoenix emiter i cant randomize the see or amount of particles need it for krakatoa, also i need to simulate again i case i dont have enough particles...

so i think in this moment its not possible what i want coz everything is acting like a cache, ill think ill have to find workaround

                    thx again

ops my mistake looks like everything works and seed too, i thought ill have to resim the scene so i phoenix emiter could make the particles

at this point i just couldnt rebuild the scene, implement this into my scene, im using smoke as a source channel...

                        i think i have found a bug...

i can share the scene if needed,

i have pheonix sim container Y = -20, when i add phoenix emiter particles are not good, only when i change particles Y = -20 everything matches

                        cheers

                          Hi,

Would it be possible to send us the scene file to support@chaosgroup.com to test it here?
                          Thank you in advance.

I think the best way to fix this is to set the simulator as parent of the particles. Like the other particles. So when you move the simulator, the particles will move properly. You can do this manually and reset the particles transformation.
