  • Liquid starts emitting after geometry passed through calm surface

    Hi there,

I have experienced strange spilling of liquid, which I believe shouldn't be there in the real world.

Here is a short clip to demonstrate what I mean:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...facingDuck.mov

After the geometry is passed through the liquid, there are still permanent disturbances on the surface.
In this image sequence you can see at frame 5 more liquid is emitted from the object.

The higher the fill-up, the more new liquid is emitted:

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...hLowFillUp.mov

The object is not specified as a target object. Therefore as I understand the object should only affect the liquid by collision.. What causes the spilling?

this is a known bug and it's already fixed, the reason is that when the duck goes through the bottom it leaves it's velocity footprint.

Aah thanks, so this means from the next build on the problem is solved?
      (I am using 2.1.1)

yes, if you have no time, ask the support for nightly access
edit: this bug was fixed twice, it's very possible that it doesn't exist in 2.1
