the particle groups are named after the object who emits the particles, except the foam and splash particles.

uv for liquids.

i'm trying to use the particle mapper so i can map uv's however i have no PG object to pick, only the phoenix object itself - nothing is being created by outputting particles. i need to recreate the scene you did here for mapping uv's onto the sim: 'particletexture.zip (33.3 KB)'. thanks!

pick the phoenix object, and a dialog will be opened showing all the particle groups nested inside. pick the drag particles (actually in your case they are the only pg) and the particle texture will work.
i think there is a sample somewhere in the history of the forum, simulation of leaking lava.______________________________________________
