  • shadows and vrayobjectproperties

    Hi,
I encountered a strange problem using VrayObjectProperties. For the proof I built a simple scene with a sphere placed in a box and a spherical light located somewhere outside the box so that the sphere is not directly lit.
Now ,I need to render two images : one for the sphere and gi shadows on the "floor" and another one for the box .For the box I created a vrayobjectProperties with Matte surfaces ON.
For reasons I do not understand in the alpha channel appears a shadow generated by the light located behind the box.
I do not know if it is normal or not but I want to know if there is any way to have only the GI shadows on the sphere layer.Turnig off the light is not an option.
    Thanks.

That's the way matte-property works. Matte geometry is considered as a fully transparent objects which could only catch shadows, that's why the light pass through the backside of the cube hit the sphere and cast shadows on the floor. A very simple workaround would be to break the shadow link between the sphere and the light only for the Matte-objects-pass.
