  • phoenix fd liquid simulation penetrates geometry

Hello everyone, I'm trying to create a simple simulation with the fluid flowing down a wooden plank down to a mill but every time the simulation penetrates the geometry, that's supposed to be the plank, and falls to the ground any ideas? The geometry is not a plane it has some thickness. Thanks in advance!

increase the resolution or make the geometry walls thicker, it must be more than two cells thick

Thanks, I'll set it up, there's also another little problem I get sometimes, increasing the resolution kind of makes the simulation "stick" on the source object and when I decrease it it runs ok again, where am I going wrong?

not sure what exactly you mean, can you post a preview ?

of course, this is my simple set up so I can solve or my issues before I try it out in my modeled scene, I just need a nice liquid poring down the geometry and it will fall on a watermill. My grid resolution is not that high so I can see it on my slow pc but as you can see they just stick on the source object. Decreasing the resolution makes the simulation work again

open the listener, select the simulator and type
              $.zmr=1
start simulation, and post the image here
this hidden option will export the geometry representation in the smoke channel. be sure that the smoke preview is enabled

Thanks Ivaylo fixing the resolution of the grid fixed the penetration problem
