    Hello,

You can check our help page / http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/P213M/Fire# /, there is plenty of information and if you have some issues with specific scene you can post it here or contact us at support@chaosgroup.com

I have a funny feeling that I'm speaking with a robot! Don't you think that before writing to you I didn't check the forum threads? The point is that the final render doesn't have an Alpha, so the Alpha channel is empty. Can you, please, let me know how to set up the opacity of the flame?

              Hi,

First off, are you using the official 2.2 build or a nightly build, and also - max or maya?

In nature, fire does not cast a shadow. Shadows are cast only by the particles of the burning material - the smoke:

You can see in this image there is only a very thin shadow and caustics. This is what actually goes into the alpha channel of the frame buffer.

Assuming you use the official 2.2 for max, you have two modes that regulate the visible appearance of the fire, but the alpha channel always contain only the opacity of the smoke. If you un-check the 'ignore alpha' option, then your visible flame opacity will coincide with the alpha in the frame buffer - the visible flame opacity will be multiplied by the smoke alpha. Otherwise, your visible fire opacity will not depend on the smoke opacity and will not be limited only to areas that have no smoke.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have an official 2.2 for Max. It would be great to have an alpha channel like the one in Fume FX.......maybe at some point in the future.

Yup, we will add render elements for both fire and smoke, hopefully for the next official version.
