  • Water / Scale ?

How to adjust the scale of the water mesh ?

Here is a 2 Minute FULL HD Video explaining the issue:

Thx for any little help !

the reason for the torn liquid is the insufficient spf for the present liquid movement.
are two approaches for small scale simulators (with cells about cm or less in size)
    - you have to increase the SPF and wait. the drawback is that you have to wait long time before seeing the result and eventually to introduce corrections. the advantage is that you get real motion
    - simulate with fake bigger scale, this will decrease the general dynamics and will allow to use slower spf. this method is widely used, many expensive movies have simulations with fake bigger scale, that is quite visible for specialist, but not for the ordinary viewer.
so, here is the recommended pipeline:
    1. increase the scene scale (you can use the phoenix parameter in the dynamics panel, or the general max parameter) until the liquid becomes stable and smooth.
    2. if the movement is satisfying, your problem is solved, stop here
    3. if you find the movement too slow, remember the scale factor (scale A) and decrease back the scale until you get acceptable dynamics (scale B). at this point you must have back the torn liquid, but now you know how many times to increase the spf to reach smooth and stable liquid. the ratio is A/B. multiply the spf by this ratio, and you must have result with satisfying behavior.

Allow me one additional suggestion - try simulating with just one of you NUMA nodes (you can exclude the others from the Simulation panel) and see if this will improve your simulation speed.

I am using this latest built: phoenixFD_adv_22050_max2016_vray_30_x64_26561

I can not find the NUMA nodes ?
Can you send me a screenshot ?

        Thank you !

well, from my observation - to make phx flip look like water you should use spf>5

I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Not yet NUMA nodes are processors on the same machine.
